About University
Northern State Medical University (NSMU) was founded in 1936 and is located in Arkhangelsk. It is the center of medical education in northern Russia. NSMU is authorized by the World Health Organization (WHO), ECFMG (USA), and the Medical Council of India (MCI). After completing their studies at NSMU, students are eligible to sit for the MCI, USMLE (USA), or PLAB (UK) exams.
Currently, approximately 5,500 students are enrolled at Northern State Medical University. The university is equipped with modern tools such as computers, films, video aids, and other advanced equipment.
NSMU has 55 departments, 27 of which are clinically based and are considered some of the best clinics in the city.
Due to NSMU’s strong international relationships, it actively participates in the medico-ecological program of the Barents Region and engages in the exchange of specialists with leading educational institutions worldwide.
